Climate 360 competition terms and conditions

Climate 360 competition terms and conditions:

  1. Entry to the competition is free and open to those 18 years old or older.

  2. The competition is not open to employees or agencies of the Climate 360 conference.

  3. Entrants into the competition shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.

  4. Entries will be accepted electronically until 11.59pm (SAST) on 12 November 2021. No late entries will be accepted.

  5. Entries must be submitted using the online form located at https://www.climate360.co.za/enter-your-climate-innovation

  6. Your entry must be original and must not contain any third-party materials and/or content that you do not have permission to use.

  7. Three finalists will be selected in each category. You may only enter one project per category.

  8. No responsibility will be accepted for entries lost, delayed or damaged in transmission.

  9. Entries reflected through the website will be treated as the only validation source and will be the only evidence of successful entries.

  10. Finalists will be required to present at an online virtual conference on 18 November and 19 November 2021 in order to be eligible for the prize.

  11. Information in your entry may be published in a post-conference report. Your presentation will be recorded and made available publicly via the Climate 360 website.

  12. By entering the competition, you agree to Climate 360 and its organisers using material at their discretion in promotional materials relating to the event, including but not limited to on social media.

  13. Winners will be announced on 19 November 2021.

  14. The main prize in each category is a scheduled five-day trip to Brussels, Belgium, and Paris, France, for one representative of the winning project to meet the Strategic Partnerships for the Implementation of the Paris Agreement (SPIPA) team at the European Union headquarters. The prize includes:
    1. Air tickets, accommodation, meals, transportation, visa applications

    2. Meetings with SPIPA members at EU headquarters

    3. Visits to climate action projects, to learn from case studies in Belgium

    4. A visit to Paris, to the International Energy Agency

    5. Sightseeing trips

  15. The prize will be awarded to the presenter at the conference. If the winner cannot travel for any reason, the prize may be transferred to another bona fide member of the organisation, with a similar level of skills and expertise.

  16. The prize may not be exchanged for cash.

  17. If the prize is not used, it will be forfeited.

  18. Disclaimer: in compliance with all South African protection of personal information or data privacy legislation that will be applicable, the winners will need to acknowledge and provide consent authorising Flow Travel (PTY) LTD to process, share and store all the travellers' personal information (including but not limited to their personal identification number), with any suppliers in the rendering of this service that are required to see them.

  19. Visas and passports: it is the responsibility of each passenger to ensure that they have the correct documentation prior to departure. This includes valid travelling documents; passports and any visas that may be required.

  20. Liabilities: Flow Travel makes every effort to ensure that all arrangements and services connected with your tour will be carried out as specified in the most efficient and effective way possible. However, Flow Travel does not have direct control over the provision of services by suppliers and, while they are in all cases selected with the utmost care, the company does not accept liability for errors and omissions of such suppliers.

  21. Flow Travel acts as an agent only in producing and operating the arrangements for the winners’ trip, and on condition that it shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, accident, delay or any other irregularity that may be occasioned by any defect, in any vehicle, or other form of conveyance, or by error or default of any company or person engaged in conveying passengers, carrying out the arrangements of the proposal or otherwise in connection therewith.

  22. Covid-19: Flow Travel will take the utmost care to keep updated of any Covid-19 regulations and restrictions governing any lockdown procedures. However, should these change at short notice, we will need to abide by these restrictions and act on them accordingly by either delaying or cancelling the trip.
